Jeff Mangrum, founded Sane and Sober Theatre (SST) in 1987, a theatre-based learning and development company whose mission is to raise awareness and offer resources to a wide variety of issues in the setting of the workplace such as: Substance Use Disorders, Employee Assistance Awareness, Supervisory Training, Mental Health, DEI, Harassment, Communication, Violence, Conflict Management, Customer Service, Occupational Safety and many others.

Mangrum has worked closely with EAPs, SAPs, HR Departments, Unions, Governmental Departments, and Colleges and Universities for over three decades, delivering innovative, thought-provoking learning events in unique formats.  

In 2023, Mangrum changed the name of the company to SST Learning & Development in order to capture the growing diversity of learning products we now offer.  Specifically, our live-facilitated, online Risk Reduction Education Programs designed for operators in violation of DOT 49 CFR Part 40.  Mangrum received his Certification to instruct PRIME For Life classes in January of 2023.

Mangrum is a national speaker and playwright who has had 5 full-length plays produced, his most recent, Wendall Greene, was mounted by the renowned Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago and was nominated for best new play by the American Theatre Critics Association. 

He has developed and delivered over 6000 presentations to companies, government agencies and institutions such as:
