For SAPs and EAPs

“As a SAP you represent the major decision point (and in some cases the only decision point) an employer may have in choosing whether or not to place an employee behind the steering wheel of a school bus, in the cockpit of a plane, at the helm of an oil tanker, at the throttle of a train, in the engineer compartment of a subway car, or at the emergency control valves of a natural gas pipeline,” as stated by the DOT’s SAP Guidelines Overview. “Your responsibility to the public is enormous!”

The SAPs role is imperative to the DOT’s initiative to make the transportation industry as safe as possible and plays a vital part in protecting public safety. As the “Gatekeepers” to the return-to-duty process, SAPs duties directly affect employees, employers, and the traveling public.

Our relationship with Employee Assistance Programs stretches back decades to the ALMACA days, and we are proud of our collaboration with this great industry and the services it provides.

We have also participated in multiple SAP trainings and have tremendous respect for the awesome responsibility the DOT has placed within the role of the Substance Abuse Professional. Conducting assessments and making recommendations for operators in violation of DOT 49 CFR Part 40, is a key component of protecting the traveling public across all modes.

Whether you are referring a DOT-regulated employee or an employee from a company with a D/A policy that mirrors the SAP process, you can rest assured they will receive a meaningful and engaging educational experience.  While bringing the client into compliance is the primary goal, we strive to provide them with skills and tools that will have a positive impact for a lifetime.

The core curriculum of our courses is the nationally recognized, evidence-based PRIME for Life.  We have taken that excellent framework and tailored the class experience to reflect the specific needs of the safety-sensitive employee. We look forward to earning your business as a trusted education provider.

We would like to share the following core values we identify as critical to building a strong relationship with you:

RESPONSIVENESS – While we work diligently to create a “problem-free” experience for your client, we are aware this is a less-than-perfect world; technology can be a struggle for some, certificates get lost, questions arise.  We are always an email, text, or phone call away from addressing any challenges that come up, for you or your client.

RESPECT We never make assumptions about your client, other than they are required to complete the course.  Our job is to provide data and information, it is up to your client to decide how to apply it to personal circumstances.

REPORTING – All our programs are live-facilitated, so it is not possible to provide a transcript of their participation.  However, we note client engagement, provide quizzes throughout the session, and ask that they provide a summary statement of personal action they will take to prevent future violations, as they conclude the course.  We are happy to provide this information to you if that is your preference.

RELIABILITY - We are committed to delivering our courses competently and consistently and on time.  Our goal is to be a provider you can depend on.
